As the oldest of eight born into poverty in the deep-south, I somehow overcame the odds and became the first — and only — member of my family to graduate from either high-school or college. My unique background provided many hardships and opportunities to overcome adversity. Dedication, Perseverance, Resolve: these values have guided me to where I am now.
